Sanxiantai (Three Immortals) in Chenggong township was a beautiful discovery. We initially went for the arch bridge, but realized hiking around the three island peaks (each immortal) was just as stunning and lovely as the main attraction itself. Many tourists stopped at the bridge; so we had the islands nearly all to ourselves!
Biking through the East Rift Valley in Taiwan. This is the more fertile part of the island, filled with pastoral farmlands, rice fields, and lovely small townships. The biking here is also on point. You can rent a bike from the township train station for $3-6 usd. Taiwan’s infamous train infrastructure connects to nearly every rural township, so you can get here via train right from Taipei. Really amazed by what I saw- never even knew such landscapes existed here. I was enthralled and humbled at the same time.
My friend and climbing partner last week took a ground fall and suffered a severe spinal cord injury which has now left her paralyzed. We are launching a medical fundraiser to help get her access to the necessary funds to provide her with the best long term care possible. PLEASE donate to her fund; she will need all the help she can get. It takes a village. Link in profile. ❤️❤️💪🏼 stay strong @elleragan you inspire me everyday. . . . . . #spinalcordinjury #fundraiser #help #climbing #amc #lizzystrong
Our week in the Canadian Rockies has ended! I’ve been climbing with these women for the last 3-4 years and have learned so much from them about climbing, friendship, and the delicate balance of outdoor aspirations with life changes. So great to spend a week together in the beautiful mountains! Here’s a favorite goofy moment - 3 days of rain and we were desperate to climb ANYTHING 🌴 . . . . . . #womenwhoclimb #ladiestrip #reunion #goofballs #friendship #idclimbanything #rainydayactivities #outdoorwomen
I decided to focus my first season open water racing on the ocean. Something about ocean OWS appealed to me; it was so vastly different than the pool, so challenging, and so incredibly variable. I’ve swam recreationally in lakes and ponds and knew I was comfortable with those; but the ocean just felt so daunting. . I just completed my second race this summer in beautiful Manchester-by-the-sea, MA. Huge thanks to the sponsors who made this Misery Challenge happen! . I’m trying to hit a cadence of one ocean race/big swim each month- with the end goal of a 3 mile swim by the end of this summer. Let’s see how this plays out... . . . . . #ows #swimming #oceanswimming #summer #miserychallenge

The rest of our week in BANFF flew by! We xc skied 20km around the beautiful trails in Lake Louise; then spent a day exploring the scenic Iceland’s Parkway; and skied one final day before a long trek home! Last two images show the gully systems off the summit of Lake Louise (one of them is the double black I skied down by accident 😅😅) and a video @n_tartaglione took of my working on bumps. I still have a lot of work to do but I’m very pleased with my second season of skiing! . . . . . #skilakelouise #explorebanff #vacation #winter #skiing #newbie #lakelouise #canadianrockies #skicanada
