I know sometimes like any couple who works out together you have your fair share of arguments, but as soon as we both cool down and catch our breath everything is okay. We aren’t perfect. On this event, I think we both completely surprised ourselves when we were in the lead and kept the lead on a running workout. We both thought something was wrong. 😂 It sure was hot out there though in Argentina. 🥵 📸: @victakesashot

Second place... Bittersweet to say the least. I think I can speak for the whole team when I say that was not what we wanted. Big congrats to the first place team, the Odd Squat, who came in ready to fight the whole weekend. Not sure what the plan is moving forward with the team. Then this fun bodyweight workout we programmed yesterday on @grownstrong Fitness is perfect for you. 👊 12 Days of Thankfulness For Time: 100 Meter Run (Or 20 High Knees) 2 Burpees 3 Push Ups 4 V-Ups 5 Plank Jacks 6 Hollow Rocks 7 Floor Back Extensions 8 Jumping Lunges 9 Mountain Climbers 10 Plank Shoulder Taps 11 Bodyweight Deadlift Jumps 12 Jumping Air Squats Workout goes like this: 100m Run, 2 Burpees + 100m Run, 3 Push Ups + 2 Burpees + 100m Run, 4 V-Ups, 3 Push Ups + 2 Burpees + 100m Run, and so on until completed all the way through. 🙌 For our GS Team, Thursday’s are usually a day of rest, but yesterday we thought it would be fun to program something that our members could do at home before the big Turkey feast. 💪 Looks simple but it was perfect! 2nd Place for both @rasmuswandersen and I in the 5k Turkey Trot here in Nicaragua. 😅 What was even better though was that the whole fam joined in for the fun. Feeling grateful that we’re all together for the first time in awhile! You can say we’re all kinda competitive though... My oldest brother @abfisher0417 took first of course, @garretmfisher took third, @nissaroseee with the 4th place finish for women, @itsryanfisher led the way for the first 400m. 😂 We all definitely went out fast and at the halfway mark there was about a 1km hill climb and my heart rate got up to 192 and I knew I had to start walking. 🤣 Red lined on the turkey trot. 🙈 But I really wanted to win. I just couldn’t hang with the girl who runs marathons. 😫 Saving up for Argentina next weekend. Hope everyone is having an amazing Thanksgiving. 💛

N I C A R A G U A ♥️ vacation never felt so good except the competition I’m thinking about next Friday… Amazing first day though. Lauren, how do you overcome the fear of lifting weights when they get heavy? One of the most common questions I get in my DM’s from a lot of people especially women asking how I can lift such heavy weight even though I’m a smaller athlete. Here’s 4 tips on how to approach a heavy barbell next time you LIFT! 1. Your mindset for lifting can make or break what you decide to lift. For me, same setup and same mental preparation before every lift. If you watch any of my lifting videos, you might notice how I approach the bar exactly the same every time nothing changes. From 10lbs on the bar to 200lbs, I have my routine and it works. Find yours! 2. Lots of REPETITION this doesn’t happen over night. Drill lighter weights and master those before you decide to add some weight on the bar. Bad technique can only take you so far... I remember when I couldn’t split jerk to save my life. Every day I walked into the gym, I did some footwork chalk drills and worked with a pvc pipe. I wanted to drill it into my muscle memory what the right position was. 3. Trick your mind into thinking this weight is light even though it isn’t. Before any lift if I tell myself “I got this” or “This is light my legs are strong”. If I tell myself I’m tired, this weight is so heavy, or any negative thinking I don’t think there has ever been one time where I made the lift. I can get away with it for lighter weights, but anything heavier will truly test your mental game. 4. Lastly, VISUALIZE. I see myself making the weight before I even attempt it and I know exactly how it feels. Especially the night before a big competition, you can imagine I’ve hit the 225lb clean and jerk 100 times in my head. “Discipline is being able to force yourself to do something, in spite of how you feel, over and over until it becomes a habit” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m going to be real with you all… Training is HARD! I would be lying if I said it was easy and if it was in fact easy - everyone would be fit, healthy and seeing the results they want to see. 💥 The truth is there no such thing as a quick fix - any form of change in your life is going to require discipline. For example, pushing yourself in the gym takes a lot of effort, will power, and DISCIPLINE. But once we build this habit of training - I promise all the benefits will be 100% worth it! Set small goals that are doable and keep building on them until you hit your big goal! And then do it all over again! First team training of the year and first team picture. 🙋🏼‍♀️ I promise the afternoon session was much better! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But definitely started out a little rough this morning when we had a team snatch ladder and I started out with a miss and then just kept missing… I was so upset at myself I started crying. SWIPE RIGHT to watch all my misses. 🤦🏽‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was feeling so tired and drained from the whole weekend. Maybe it’s been accumulating the past couple of weeks, but I have a lot going on right now. And next week Ras and I will be leaving for a quite a bit and have a lot of travel coming up which is all exciting things, but can also be overwhelming. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t want to throw a list of things going through my mind, but long story short I posted these videos on my stories and wanted to share here how we all have good days and we ALL HAVE BAD DAYS. Even the best of the best. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s hard to see that here on social media when everyone just posts all the good, but you know me I like to keep it real here 👉 the good, the bad, the ugly.
