Not only are they are a great low calorie way to flavor your food but they’re also packed full of different benefits. I wanted to share some of the top spices I use and some of the research behind them! Check out all the nuggets of info below:⠀ .⠀ Cayenne - In numerous studies, the active compound in cayenne, capsaicin, has been shown to reduce appetite. (1) Capsaicin also has been shown to increase energy expenditure through the activation of brown adipose tissue in humans (aka boost fat burning capabilities) (2) Although not sure how big the fat burning effect is, cayenne could be a great option to add to your health routine.⠀ .⠀ Turmeric - The compound curcumin in turmeric is a powerful antioxidant that fights oxidative stress. Initial studies show promising effects of curcumin on the prevention and therapy of cancer (3)⠀ .⠀ Black pepper - Black pepper in particular boosts the absorption of the compound curcumin and in one study was shown to boost the bioavailability by up to 2,000% (4) Studies has also shown it to boost the absorption of beta-carotene.⠀ .⠀ Sea salt - salt Is an essential mineral and too little or too much can prove to be problematic for overall health. High quality pink Himalayan or sea salt also contains trace minerals and doesn’t have any additives like the standard table salts you normally find.⠀ .⠀ Ceylon Cinnamon - can lower blood sugar by slowing down the breakdown of carbs and improving overall insulin sensitive (5) Cinnamon also is a potent antioxidant that can help fight inflammation (6)⠀ .⠀ Cumin - has been shown to increase the activity of digestive enzymes and increase the release of bile form your liver which helps to digests fat & certain nutrients. 1 tsp of cumin has 1.4mg of iron which is 17.5% of the RDI (7)⠀ .⠀ What’s your favorite spice? I figured since I get asked a lot about my fitness/ Life Journey I should actually post a before and after photo. The photo on the Left was after I moved to Miami and was Introduced to Miami Lifestyle (late night drinking ) and LATIN food. My dad is a chef so you know I had to TRY everything!! I slowly started gaining weight over the span of 2 years. I was MADLY in Love,working A lot, and Eating irregularly. ⚡️•Lets go back to the Start• (I've had set backs, like everyone) I was finally diagnosed in 2010 after YEARS of stomach pains and miss diagnoses. I was allergic to Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, and Soy. At the time I was about to Start College Softball and I was Always in Pain. After going to a Holistic Doctor that told me change my Diet to more Raw, Healthy foods. After years of YO-Yoing with my weight and my emotions I got sick of it, literally. I think my body started to reject more foods, and ALCOHOL, so I wanted to see how my body would feel closer to Mother Nature. I started juicing (Not as a meal replacement, but to get more vitamins) ALOt of fruits and Veggies, Snacks and Fish. I get hungry if I don't eat, but after a while you're metabolism speeds up and you just Need food. I WAS Never like that. Haha •Hiking, and at home workouts are my jam! I hate people starring at me at the gym, Pump some Iron and stare at yourself in the mirror. •So after years of weight struggle in middle school and highschool I have seriously accepted that You have to do what is right for YOUR MIND, BODY, and and SOUL! If people are telling you you are to Fat, skinny, Short, Tall = Fuck them! They are NOT in your head at the end of the day.....You are, you have to be ok with yourself and your thoughts when you attempt to sleep at night!!! I'm learning that, and I'm trying to grow too!! • . . Follow @easyketo_meals . . •Bouillon de poule à l'ancienne• 🥣🍃 Encore une fois nos grand-mères avaient tout compris: il n'y a rien de mieux qu' un bouillon à l'ancienne pour reminéraliser son corps et booster ses défenses immunitaires... . . ☝️ Mais attention, ses nombreuses vertus sont préservées uniquement en prenant quelques précaution de préparation... . . 👩‍🌾 D'abord, qu'est ce qu'on y trouve? 👉Riche en minéraux et oligo-éléments(calcium, magnésium, soufre, phosphore, manganèse, silicium, potassium,...) 👉Les cartilages des os apportent du collagène . . 🍃 Reminéralise le corps et renforce les os et articulations 🍃 Régénère la peau 🍃 Renforce le système immunitaire 🍃 Nourrit le microbiote 🍃 Participe à l 'équilibre acido-basique en alcalinisant le corps . Comment précéder pour ne rien perdre de ces précieuses vertus: . 🍂 Déposer une poule entière bio dans 5L d'eau froide (froide pour que la carcasse puisse infuser de manière optimale) 🍂 Faire frémir mais pas bouillir (l'ébullition ferait précipiter les minéraux qui seraient beaucoup moins bien assimilés par votre corps) 🍂 Mettre sur feu très doux et écumer la mousse (ce qui enlèvera de l'amertume) 🍂 Ajouter du vinaigre cidre (un acide est indispensable pour extraire les minéraux des os) 🍂 Ajouter les légumes (carottes, verts de poireaux, gousses d'ail, oignons piqués de clou de girofle, thym, laurier, céleri,...) 🍂 Laisser infuser à feu très doux pendant 4h .
