ET Day 5: Aksum or Axum aka the ancient kingdom of Aksum was one of the powerful capital in the 4th century. These obelisks represent the tombs of ancient kings and queens as well as their family and servants. The biggest one was 33 m long but fell and broke in few pieces. One obelisk weighs about 160 tones and is one piece of rock. Legends say that slaves and elephants made this possible. #discoverafrica

🍫 CHOCO CHOCO LALA CHOCO CHOCO TETE CHOCO LA CHOCO TE CHOCO LA TE 🍫 One of the things that are always good to know is: Your History. 🇬🇶 Not everybody knows that Guinea Ecuatorial was a colony of Spain and also one of Spain's municipalities -meaning that Guinea was another city just like Madrid- and that people born in Guinea up to 50 years ago had and still have the Spanish nationality. Which is actually quite interesting and let's you know a bit about Spain and Spaniards 🙃 Another thing that came from Guinea and Spain's history is 🍫 Chocolate, since the cacao that Spanish brands like @elgorriaga_ used, came from and was processed directly in Guinea and from Guineans that were treated like second class citizens by the colonos 😶 I had the opportunity to visit La Finca Sampaka, known from the famous Palm trees that you can see in the movie Palmeras en la Nieve, and all I have to say is that I'm happy that the people from Sampaka works with Guineanos and gives them everything they need to have a good job under good conditions. They know their history and don't try to erase it, they actually embrace it since they even work with the same materials and techniques that they used back in the "good ol' days". Definitely a must see when visiting Guinea ❤️💖
