After 5 months of not posting on Instagram, I am back to share my journey. A lot has gone on in the last few months, including a 20 pound weight gain which was difficult to deal with. It was hard to stay on track during the summer. I wish I would have stuck to posting on Instagram because it really kept me accountable. I have been working hard on weight loss since September and have joined a few dietbets and step bets to help me out. I have lost those 20 pounds I gained plus another 5 more. Honestly I stopped posting because I was embarrassed about my weight gain, but I realize now you guys would have helped me get back on track. I have decided to repost again to help me stay accountable because looking back at my posts, I did my best when I was sharing my journey. I am currently trying out the green plan on ww to see how it works for me as freestyle didn’t. I have really enjoyed following a lot of your journeys the past few months. It really motivated me to get back on track. I hope to get back in touch with all of you ❤️. I was so upset over how I looked I mentioned printing off all these photos and putting them where I can see them until maybe just maybe it motivated my ass into gear. . It’s crazy to think that almost 2 years ago, I was getting surgery to hopefully remove the ovarian cancer that had taken over my little body at only 23 years old. Ovarian cancer is know as the SILENT KILLER and that’s because symptoms don’t usually appear until the later stages, like myself. I was diagnosed at Stage 3 and unfortunately it ended up in my spleen and lymph nodes making the new diagnoses Stage 4B...the last stage. Looking back, I HAD EVERY SINGLE SYMPTOM of ovarian cancer and I had no idea!😭 - - I am extremely blessed and thankful that God placed me in the hands of my doctors and we were able to catch it when we did because in November I will be celebrating 1 year of no evidence of disease! 🙌🏻 There is a TON of miss-information about ovarian cancer and testing! - - THERE IS NO TESTING FOR OVARIAN CANCER! A yearly pap CAN NOT detect ovarian cancer! A vaginal ultra sound CAN NOT detect ovarian cancer but can show signs of a mass. A CT/MRI scan can show signs of cancer but CAN NOT determine if it is OVCA! The only way to 100% determine if it is ovarian cancer is by a BIOPSY and that’s it! The CA125 tumor marker level is the way the doctors monitor ovarian cancer once it has already been confirmed that it is OVCA and even then, it’s not always correct! - - The most common signs and symptoms of OVCA are: Bloating Frequent urination or the need to go, a lot! Feeling full quickly Abdominal pain or lower back pain - - Tag at least 2 ladies down below and spread awareness for the cancer know as the SILENT KILLER, you could possibly be saving a life! Ps. 2 years, 70 pounds less. I’ve changed more than just physically since this time but to be honest I’m really proud of myself. In 2016 I was 205 pounds and as of today I’ve lost 70. I think I my current weight(135)is pretty good for 5’ 10”. I’ve gone from size 15 jeans to size 2/4, I’ve worked so hard and now I can see it. 2 years later I’m so different in ways I never would have guessed. Thank you to everyone who supported me but more than that thanks to everyone who poked fun at me because without you guys I would have never made this change for myself. It was lost healthily and one of the most difficult things. I’m still not 100% confident but I feel so much better and I’m fine with slightly bragging about this. No matter what others say, only you can define your worth. So from a 1X to a small, from 2016 to 2018, and from my life then to my life now, if there’s one thing I learned is that hard work will eventually pay off.
