|| Wanting clients to like you but having to tell them what they may not want to hear 🤭⤵️: · Sometimes I have to tell clients the opposite of what they want to hear to get the best results (ways to change their mindset, not going balls deep into foods on the weekends, pushing a little harder in the gym, that a realistic timeline is a bit longer than X weeks, etc.) 😬 · BUT we have to have tough conversations even when we know people aren’t going to like what we have to offer or be all jazzed about it 😅 #Adulting) · HOW do we have these convos? 👉🏼 with clear, confident, and calm words. Even though they may not want to hear exactly what's being said, they still feel confident in my decision/options and feel safe with me guiding them. · P.s. Nobody wants to take advice from someone who talks to them like they're stupid. Nobody wants to follow random advice if you don't even sound confident in it. So don't ever be the person, coach, or friend who just spews out bullshit to make them feel confident and safe with your opposed opinion 🙅🏼‍♀️ · SHARE with them what you truly BELIEVE in and can/do put into action YOURSELF 👏🏼 ||

TRAINING WHILE TRAVELING...⁣ ⁣ While in Denver, CO today, I had a thought 🤔. On a previous post I mentioned how I really enjoyed traveling. I also REALLY love working out and being inside of a gym. Sometimes these two activities tend to compete for my time. I am then left with the dilemma of still want to make progress in the gym and fully enjoying a trip. This also means enjoying some good food 😊🍔⁣ ⁣ Since I happen to be traveling now, here is what I tend to do each time:⁣ ⁣ 1. Autoregulate - For this week I had a discussion with my coach @zac.datadrivenstrength (yes, coaches have coaches; there is always room to get better) and let him know of my travel plans this weekend. He devised a strategy that allowed me to stay on track and not need a gym while away.⁣ ⁣ 2. Planned deload week - If you are looking to travel yet enjoy the progress you're making. Try and take a planned deload week during that week of travel. Evidence suggests strength and muscle are decently robust when it comes to retention so I would worry about lost gains.⁣ ⁣ 3. Bring protein powder with you - If you're like me, when you travel you love enjoying the local menu. Usually this tends to leave you consuming a lower amount of protein than normal. By having protein powder, it allows you keep up with your current recommended protein consumption and allows you to go into meals less hungry so you don't overeat.⁣ ⁣ 4. Lastly, even if I had planned to lift and didn't get around to it, I just move on to the next week. The memories made were better than the potential loss in progress.⁣ ⁣ Short and sweet. Nothing too elaborate or difficult. We lift to better our life and traveling is a fun part of that. Stressing something like missing the gym for a short amount of time is not worth it. Experiencing other people, cities, and entire cultures gives you a different perspective on almost everything is worth it.⁣ ⁣ I'm going to go back to enjoying this trip but first let me ask you, where would you go if you could go anywhere in the world??? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Barre 3⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💪🏻💪🏻 Blog Post of Review is Live 💪🏻💪🏻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏋️‍♂️ - Difficulty Level - Medium⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔎 - The Basics - Workouts are done barefoot or in grippy socks.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Barre fitness is a hybrid workout class – combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. Most classes incorporate a ballet barre and use classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. Barre also focuses on high reps of small range movements. “⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We used small free weights and a ball. The exercises were small movements and holds. The hardest for me were the holds up on my toes. The types of movements were a lot of squats and lifts but again very small and isolated movements. The workout ended on the mat as many do for abdominal work.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We were encouraged to work at a level we could handle. Modification suggestions were given to make it more doable or more challenging. We were encouraged to push ourselves but also listen to our bodies.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤩 Atmosphere - Very welcoming and friendly. It was all women but it is not exclusively for women. It was obvious that it is a close and encouraging community.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏢 - Facility - One main room for class. They do have a child watch area for an extra fee. The lobby is large and encourages members to socialize afterwards. I loved the little shop in the front of the studio! There were the cutest workout clothes. I definitely need to check that out again.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⌚️ - Workout Length - 1 Hour⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚡️ - Overall - Loved the energy and how engaged the instructors were. I highly recommend working out at Barre 3. If you are looking for a community that is encouraging and promotes feeling your best.
