You know what’s ok? Working out daily if you want to, taking more rest days if you want to, eating clean if you want to, or having that extra slice of pizza, glass of wine or donut if you want to. Allowing yourself To feel kick ass is ok , but so is having a fluffy day and sulking about it for a little while that’s ok too! ( we are only human~ it happens) Being strict and setting goals is ok, but so is being gentle with yourself and realizing that you are incredible just the way you are.. What’s NOT OK is forcing yourself to fit a mold that society and social media lead you to believe is what you should be and how you should be doing! I take more rest days now then I have in a long time. And my mind and my body and soul are thanking me for it. When I do workout now I’m not going through the motions, I am giving it 💯 . And I haven’t been on a “ plan” in so long and my mind and body and soul are thanking me for that too. I’m not stressed or obsessed. Sure there are days where I feel I could do more or maybe shouldn’t have eaten that. But the moment is fleeting and guess what my life goes on! #happymondayyall #mondaymotivation #mondayvibes #lifespiration #fitover40

Happy Metal Monday y’all!! 😁Yesterday by far, was a very humbling experience. Rain, humidity, nausea, GI issues- all of the above. Did I qualify for Boston? No. Did I hit a PR? No. I knew that going into this race I was just going to enjoy the glory of running & being blessed at what my body can do at 42 yrs old. Very grateful to my BFF of +25 yrs Who met me at mile 13. Cold water 💦 & get a** out there!! Again my good friend at mile 20 @waynebstevens with his cute dog 🐕 Claire. Shortly after I saw my husband at the med tent— I knew he was in trouble!! Hip issues. We stopped walk/ran a few miles together until he said “Go, just go honey”. I knew he meant it. There’s a lot of self talk and devotion between mile 23-26. Once again, grateful!! Thank you to all of my family, friends, spin buddies @getstrongerfitness , my ladies women’s group (praying for me at 5 AM on Sunday morning, sending me words of encouragement), @rundrea21 @ambar.running @runningshoe_mami Who kept me strong the days before, the day of!! I LOVE ❤️ this IG running community!!
