If you are travelling with food restrictions, an important part of travel prep is bringing food with you to snack along the way, and ideally high carb food that will give you energy while you explore! Some of my favourite foods to bring on trips are: 1) pancakes (gluten free, vegan, and can be made with bananas, and blueberries added into them!). Pancakes are great to snack on whether you are on the plane, bus, train, and something that isn’t messy to eat - and helps your hungry tummy! ) 2) pretzels- in particular this brand of @glutinofoods pretzels are INCREDIBLE ! All of my friends love them so much (even those who typically do not consume gluten free food), and they have a really nice crunch/salt ratio - would highly recommend! These ones are also vegan which is great!! 3) rice crackers (especially this pack from the brand @goodthins 😍. So satisfying, and super easy to pack! Also bonus, they don’t have any additional flavouring on them besides salt- which is great for those who are sensitive to flavours/unknown “natural flavours”) Bonus: my favourite drink to order (given that it is not sweetened with honey, which is high fodmap) is lemonade! I found it was one of the beverages that I was constantly able to find in both Spain and Portugal. I’m excited to report today is my first day POST-FODMAP! It’s been a long couple of months abiding my a strict diet to find out my food sensitivities & I’m so glad it’s over. I started off my morning with this yummy smoothie, honestly one of my favorite 😋 . #Recipe: Throw together 2 scoops of @idealfit chocolate protein powder (or your favorite kind), 1 frozen banana, large handful of spinach, TBS or 2 of instant coffee, 1/2 cup or so of unsweetened almond milk & handfuls of ice. I can’t stress the importance of the ice enough 😂 I love my smoothies thicck so that’s why. . What’s your favorite smoothie concoction? I’ve always wanted to try Chicago style pizza! 🍕 Yesterday I finally decided to just try making it myself. I still won’t know if it tastes authentic, but it’s worth a try, right? . Unfortunately I seem to be missing the bottom of my spring-form pan >_> so I had to use cake tins, and since they were all to small anyways, I decided to just split it into two small ones. . It was pretty good! Though not as good as I’d hoped. :/ Perhaps I should try some other recipes? Anybody have any recommendations? . Hands up 🙌if you find it super daunting to start a nutrition plan to manage your IBS? I work with the low FODMAP diet the most, so I can speak from this perspective. Yesterday I had a client who was diagnosed with IBS a few months. The doctor gave him this lengthy food list to eat and to avoid. This client reached out to me in frustration because he just didn't know where to start. He was still confused about what food to eat? How much can he eat? Does he have to eliminate all the high FODMAP food? But most of all, he hasn't felt any better. Before starting any diet, the first thing I recommend is, well, relax 🙂 take a deep breath! Give yourself time. Sit down, have a cup of peppermint tea, 🍵 and make a simple plan of what you can eat for the next week. 📖 (just start simple! Get fancy later). To plan well, check what you already have. Once you're done, go ahead and shop, watch out for hidden FODMAPs in labels. Remember: focus on ADDING in food and SWAPPING foods. Don't focus on eliminating a whole food group because you'll risk not getting enough nutrient and variety in your diet. If you can, work with a dietitian 👩🏻‍⚕️ who can walk you through this process. But most important of all, give yourself time and be patient. With any learning, this stuff takes time. Good luck! Утром проснулась и почувствовала боль в животе. Обычно у меня живот не болит поэтому я удивилась и запереживала🙄 Выпила ОВ, позавтракала, сходила в туалет нормальным стулом, но осталось ощущение неопорожненности. Нервничала т.к нужно было выходить на работу. Была уверена, что буду выпрыгивать из окна общественного транспорта в поисках туалета, но нет. Постепенно нервозность прошла, чувство неопорожненности тоже и я прекрасно себя чувствовала до конца дня. Думаю, помочь мне пережить этот приступ помог ОВ. А сама причина приступамбыла в печени трески.
