Without weighing our food it is impossible to know how many calories we are putting in to our bodies. Similarly, due to very powerful marketing techniques used by brands such as ‘organic’, ‘fat-free’, ‘vegan’ etc. we often fall foul to what we believe to be ‘healthy’ and will help us lose fat when in fact we’re still consuming a high amount of calories. The photos showcase the recommended portion size of @dorsetcereals vs a consumers bowl. Photos 1 & 3 - 45g recommended serve: 223kcals; 22.2g carbs; 11.9g fat; 5.2g protein Photos 2 & 4 - 180g serving: 892kcals; 88.8g carbs; 47.6g fat; 20.8g protein Add milk to the mix and these calories jump even higher. A buzz word within fitness often associated with gains in muscle mass, while being liquid gold to many, hypertrophy has also gained negative stigma amongst those who don’t understand it. In fact, when manipulated correctly in to an efficient training plan and paired with a nutrition plan, hypertrophy can result in a different level of receptiveness from the body and suit many different needs. Common concerns and misconceptions: ▫️I’ll get too muscly ▫️I just want to lose fat and lean up, I don’t want to get big ▫️I’m a woman and this doesn’t apply to me Reality: ▫️You will only get more muscly than you desire if you continue overloading your training and being in a calorie surplus. TBT to the time I bought a spiralizer to make zoodles, squash-oodles, and you get my drift. Guess what’s never been opened and still in the box at the back of my kitchen pantry?!?! Toast for breakfast on this quiet morning ✨ there has been nothing better than learning to embrace the stillness.
