Passive and active stretching traditionally done will make your body noodle like. I used to stretch, but quit because I started feeling networks in my body working as isolated units. . . In my experience, stretching works at the very beginning of a training program, but continual use eventually makes a person flaccid. The body turns pinchy, nervy, and tingly in all the wrong ways. This is a story stretchers don't tell you about. If a stretcher feels pain, usually they'll tell people they feel the pain because they're not stretching enough. No bueno. . . If you are a person who stretches a lot, here's something you might want to ask yourself... Why do you feel the compulsion to stretch at all if the stretches are supposed to be balancing your body? Really think about that. If your body really is being fixed by these stretches, you shouldn't have to do them routinely. . . Why do you routinely have to stretch? There are a multitude of reasons. Biggest one is that you are losing elastic recoil in places that need it the most. How do you find out which places need the most elastic recoil? There are no clear answers to that. Best thing I can tell people to do is stop doing stretching and replace that with MFR. In that process, study what we are doing to the point you will actually overcome the imbalances through precise muscle network recruitment.
