Ok so I have debating whether to let there be sound or not in this video, because I make some pretty weird noises. But I was like ugh screw it though because this is actually what work sounds like. I ended up doing 225 lbs x 10 reps with full ASS to GRASS form. I weigh in at 195 lbs right now, so yes this is above bodyweight, but in the actual grand scheme of things this isn’t even an impressive lift by any stretch, I most definitely could have done 15-16 reps in total but I don’t possess the anaerobic capacity and pain tolerance, but yet I don’t really give a shit. Because I actually don’t personally know many people who have ass to grass mobility with 225 lbs x 10. Side note: I put plates underneath my heels to ensure proper form and ease the dorsiflexion range of my ankle. This looks pretty hard as you can tell from my strangled moans towards the end, but that’s what squats are, really fucking hard. Dope thing is, I don’t even regularly squat, I actually forget to lift legs sometimes, which is once a week lmao, but my methods have made my joints so elastic and strong I can always somewhat put up weight. Maybe I’ll get my shit together and get 315x10 by next December? Ladies looking to build their lower half, just get strong and don’t be afraid to. I find this little snippet of David Belle (often recognized as one of the pioneers behind Parkour) dropping from height in an old French tv news feature very interesting, for the non naked eye. Observe the body absorbing upon impact and the rebound off the floor. I slowed it down for you to see the finer details. What you see is the body behaving in a way that is not often conceptualized as ‘proper biomechanics’ but I wonder how many such landings did the experts who developed these concepts ever took or would survive taking if they did vs the daily drops the man in the video would take for years on end.... Observe how upon impact the body unified as a whole, there is no more chained isolated muscular actions but one total body unity. Is this healthy? Is this most efficient? Optimal? Correct? I do not think we have answers for these questions but at this point in time instead of theorizing and trying to solidify our approach to movement, what is most important is to start looking at the intuitive performances of real experienced practitioners as usually they are the ones responsible for the mutational evolution of our techniques and not some theoretical geek in a biomechanics lab... As they say, the difference between theory and practice is that in theory they are the same but not in practice... I’m fascinated by little glitches such as this, when studying great performers. Below is a guide for you to create a strong lower body! ⠀ ♦️ So, to get a well-rounded leg day, aim for 1-2 exercises per muscle group of the 4 above. Málokdo z těch, co vám vysvětlují, co je správně, jak udělat extenzi tu, flexi tam, co je hypermobilita a co je nezdravé dokáže podobnou věc. Spíš... nikdo. Teorie a praxe je někdy velmi rozdílná věc. A najdete ještě méně parkouristů, co jim je přes 40 a pořád jsou schopní dobře fungovat. Většina se při svojí praxi postupně zničí. David je nicméně pořád dobře funkční, ale jeho postupné zdokonalování a “otužování” těla málokdo replikuje, každý chce skákat ze střechy hned. Reposting @portal.ido: ...
