Innot Hot Springs. We didn’t venture into the CP to see their spring pools ($$$), instead we just made the drive to the actual hot spring creek nextdoor to the CP. and Boy Howdy are those springs HOT!!! 🥵 In some parts you could see the spring water bubbling to the surface and it was honestly like there were kettles of boiling water below. It was dangerously hot. With the sweltering temps nearly hitting the 40’s we decided to even avoid the more tepid pools. . . . . Almost like having a warm bath 🛀 . Loved having a good soak in the mineral hot springs. There were six pools at different temperatures from cool to hot. The hottest was super hot at 38-40 degrees. I lasted two minutes before I had to get out of it and jump in the cool pool to cool down.

Innot Hot springs was quite an eye opener for all of us. Within the creek, on one side of the sand pile was cold water and other side was extremely heated water from the springs. They could be regulated by digging a channel from the cool water through to the hot water. Leo doing some rejuvenating and healing in Innot hot springs. 100 or so years ago this water was bottled and shipped to Europe. It was hauled over the Cardwell Range to Townsville and bottled at the Innot Cordial Factory. I'm not sure how much of it's healing quality survived the journey 🙄. Today we packed up and left Mt Surprise and Russell at Planet Earth Adventures. We headed East along Highway Number 1 through Atherton, Queensland, Australia and Ravenshoe, Queensland winding up and down to Mareeba, Queensland. The roads were cut through mountainous but spectacular forestry with views you would pay for. It would be a photographer's dream if only there were somewhere to pull over!! We did a grocery shop, topped up the fruit and veggie supply and filled the freezer with meat from the local Cleall's Meat Service on the main street. We even got the lads hair cut at the super friendly The Hair Port as a walk in customer and he's happy with it so major win. The girls were so lovely as well. We ducked home via Golden Drop. Mango Winery. For a taste test and came home with a Dragoncello (Dragonfruit laquer) and a Mango wine 🤤🥂 We came home and made some dinner, had a drink and a couple of phone calls, a pommy bath and retired for the night. We are staying on the River at a property called Birds on Barron. Such a lovely place to stay and the pooch loves it because she is yet again free!!
