I’d like you to meet some of my tribe - aka my husband, parents and parents in law. (The photo was Christmas Day last year)⠀There are many many more people that make up our tribe! ⠀ This week the tribe was integral in being able to manage the juggle with our son. I was away interstate for 4 days and worked an extra day. A big part of being able to travel and focus on work for a few days was our tribe/village. They came through for us and then some, which is amazing support. ⠀ ⠀ My husband is a great hands on father. This week he was both mum & dad whilst I was travelling. Not once did he question if I should go or complain about anything. His support is so important to allowing us to both have careers. Luckily our son slept well for him, and there weren’t too many tears (one small bile incident). This morning though as my hubby was going off to work, our little man was very upset to see daddy going. It is special to see the beautiful bond they both have. ⠀ ⠀ Our parents were a big help as well this week. My husbands parents looked after the little man on a day they don’t usually and really helped us out. Then my folks had my husband over for dinner Wednesday night and had the little man as normal on Thursday. ⠀ ⠀ I am lucky that we have such a supportive tribe to help raise our son and I don’t take this for granted, as I know not everyone has access to grandparents. Growing up, I didn’t live in the same city as my grandparents and saw them a few times a year and spoke to them on the phone (all before the days of FaceTime, Skype and modern technology as we know it). It’s great to have all our grandparents in the same city and special to watch the relationship grow with out little man. Over the past 18 months they have been there for anything we may have needed and come over with relatively short notice to help out. ⠀ ⠀ A big shout out to everyone’s tribe. They all aren’t immediate family, but play an important role in our children’s lives. It sure does take a village! 🙏 to my tribe 😀 ⠀ ⠀ Who is in your tribe?
