Shout out to the doctor I saw yesterday who gave me a super strong ibuprofen prescription. You’re a gem 💎 . I’m still staying away from quad dominant/knee-bending movements but, regardless of that, my last 2 gym sessions have been 🔥 My eating is getting better too and I’m just feeling more positive towards fitness in general! . I don’t like to think of these as before and afters but instead just reflecting on how far we have come. This busy mum was doing all the training in the world and had a fear of carbs pre working with me. She had Tried to do it all on her own before, and kept returning to the same point. Life was busy, work was hectic and family life is a priority, just like most of us. However this time it was different... with my help we changed things up and allowed her to get results whilst balancing everything above. In order to change, she took action, and made changes. Following on from our recent poll here are some guidelines for building muscle Aim for 3-6 sets, 6-12 reps, 30-90sec rest at an intensity of 70-80% 1RM Research has shown 5 sets of 10reps at this intensity to be optimal for muscle growth. On the nutritional side aim to get 1-1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight. For example a 70kg / 154lb male would need 154-231g of protein which is 616 - 924 calories out of his daily allowance. Today took my squat set almost to failure 110x5 105x6 100x6 95x7 Half years ago I used to stuck between 100x4 and never go up to 5reps end up with lower-back injury after try to push myself over that gap, after some tips and tricks and experiment during my workouts I now able to hit a new high on my own PR and also perfecting the form and more control of the movement overall felt more stable and not bouncing the weight up from below. Things to improve: 1. Train stability of your hips 2. Control movement/slow down reps 3. More mind and muscle connection 4. Push the weight up through your hills 5.
