What’s up Instagram! I hope your week is off to an amazing start 😍 . I had a headache most of the day which is unfortunate, but it could always be worse so I try my best not to complain. I knew going into this workout that I may get very little out of it, but I wanted to go and try because often times it does help!! . This is how I warm up for deadlifts ⬆️ I stretch, do core and glute activation exercises, and then hit 2-3 sets of barbell RDLs. It doesn’t take long to feel the burn with these and I love it 🔥😅 . If there’s one thing I learned from my injury this summer, it’s that the warm up, at least for me, is the most important part of my workout. It loosens up my body and properly activates my muscles. If I skimp on warm up, I can feel it in my lifts!! . Who else is a fan of RDLs (or stiff leg deadlifts)?? I’m a big fan of RDLs in any variation!! They are great for strengthening the posterior chain and core 🔥🔥🔥 . I hope you all have an amazing night. Monday squat session. —— Comp squats - 4 OF 4 X 5- 221 LBS/ 100.45 KG. Box squats- 3 OF 4 X 5- 199 LBS/ 90.45 KG. ——— Contrary to my stoic / bored demeanor, these squats were kind of more challenging than expected. Major sticking point out the hole. My hips still hate me and want to shoot forward + my knees just want to be together. 🙃 — Working on cleaning up my diet to address my food intolerances / candidiasis (yeast overgrowth.) Giving up dairy + eggs + starchy things was kind of challenging, BUT... my skin is clearing up, less bloating, migraines, indigestion, icky stomach pain, and my weight is finally dropping. So I hadn’t brought it up yet but I am a WW member and with the new change to myWW I went purple #teampurple 💜 Last week I attempted but it failed miserably as I was not really prepared with all the zero point foods. So today is my first “official” start of the new program. I wanted to share what I ate so others might see what it is like. I tried to take pictures before I ate but 🤦‍♀️ I forgot until a few bites in a few times. Another note, my dinner was Trader Joe’s cauliflower fried rice mix with chicken and scrambled egg and I only counted for the oil used since everything else was zero points. I. Hate. Running. . . Let me rephrase that: I SUCK at running, therefore I hate it 🏃🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m not good at it, never have been. In high school I was always the last one to finish the mile (sometimes I only ran 3 laps instead of 4 because i was 1. Insecure and 2. Lazy af). You couldn’t pay me to go back to high school🙅🏼‍♀️ Aaaaaaaanyways... . . You need to do the shit you hate in order to grow and in order to get better. You will not get anywhere in life staying within your comfort zone and what’s familiar to you. That goes for fitness and literally anything else in your life. A lesson I’ve come to learn throughout the past few years. . . Running isn’t easy. That’s why I do it. Yes I’ve been increasing my running due to having the Spartan race soon. But even after that I know I need to incorporate it more into my routine. I do the stairmaster for cardio, and in no way am I saying that’s easy, but I’ve become GOOD at it. I can go on those stairs for 45 minutes with no convincing. I got comfortable. Therefore, time to switch it up🌀 . . Tonight I ran 2.53 miles in 30 minutes. I wanted to get 3 miles but between my plantar fasciitis and my right hip acting up, I didn’t wanna push it and I definitely don’t need any injuries with race day being only 5 days away. I didn’t stop, I kept pace and managed my breathing well. That is an absolute win for me. I’m not the fastest and I’m certainly not the best, but I ran for 30 minutes without stopping at 5-5.5 mph. And for my short, thick stumpy legs I will take that as a win for tonight 😂🍑 . . Challenge yourself. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. Work your ass off and then work even harder the next day. Get better at what you suck at. Do the shit you hate 🤙🏼🏃🏼‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️ #DuesPaid #Discipline #latergram
