“If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then Autumn would be the magic hour”

If I could go back in time and tell my younger self ONE THING... it would be this... Failure is not an option it’s the ONLY option! // All throughout my adolescence I would chicken out to even attempt things. I was so scared of the thought of failing that I wouldn’t even try. I didn’t participate in any sports or clubs at all, because I was always an insecure chubby kid and felt so down on myself. I thought I would never be good enough to be on a team. I didn’t even go to college because of how discouraged in my abilities I was. All the years I spent living in fear of failure when all along I never realized that failure would be my greatest ally. - I was so naive to think everything in life would be perfect on the first try. Failing is literally a stepping stone on the road to success. The more we fail the more resilient we become, and in order to achieve great success we must know resilience. In all reality if we think that we’re going to succeed on the first try, or even the first few tries, then we’re sure to set ourselves up for far more painful failure. - It wasn’t easy for me to break out of this restraining mentality. But as soon as I started using the same energy I was doubting myself with to actually believe in myself... MY WHOLE WORLD CHANGED!! Now instead of doubting my potential I feed myself all the glorious possibilities that can go right if I continue to try try try again. - Just remember whenever you feel down and discouraged that the most successful people in life have failed the most times. If you try to go through life without failing at anything, then you’re not really living a life at all. Taking risks and falling down flat on our faces is part of life.... it makes us into who we are. So let me ask you this my friends do you bend or do you break??

Remembrance Day 2019. Remembering my dad who was in the Norwegian underground and captured, my Mom who was a member of the volunteer Canadian Royal Air Force and all those who sacrificed and still are sacrificing their lives and wellbeing for our country. #lestweforget #remembranceday #mountainmonday

• Nā Pali • smell the sea, and feel the sky let your soul and spirit fly - van morrison ——————————————————————————— Nā Pali means “many cliffs” in Hawaiian. These cliffs are several thousand feet tall. When the golden light of the setting sun hits these cliffs, nature creates an art of light and shadow. I booked the “no doors” helicopter ride with @jackharterhelicopters for sunset. It was my first time on a helicopter and I was told afternoons in Hawaii are windy and cloudy. But mother nature was kind as always. The sight in front of me was mesmerizing and left me speechless. Here’s the first photo from the Kauai trip. My birthday was a bit different this year. ** We spent 8-10 hours getting hopelessly denied by Mongolian customs while trying to get into Russia. They then kicked us out of the building at 6pm and said “maybe try tomorrow.” (we think that’s what they said at least) ** So we drove 15 minutes out of “no man’s land” (to avoid potential border crime?) and found some grassy hills to set up camp. ** We then torched these candles in a loaf of stale rye bread and ate an MRE to celebrate. ** Some people look forward to a nice relaxing, comforting day when their birthday comes around. It might be odd, but I like when something happens where it’s impossible to forget it. We successfully accomplished that goal this year! ** Our @unchartedspirits series starts airing Tuesday, November 19th.
