Lake Titicaca Lake Titicaca is called “The Birthplace of the Incas”, and “The Birthplace of the Sun”. Incan mythology says that the first Inca king, Manco Capac, was born at Lake Titicaca. The Gods later created a wife for him and they began a tribe that later blossomed into the Inca Empire, making Lake Titicaca "The Birthplace of the Incas." An ancient Incan myth also tells the story of the God Viracocha coming out of the lake and creating the sun, the stars, and the first people. ___________________________ www.rainforestcruises.com _ _ _ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #laketiticaca #lakepics #lake_view #lake_titicaca #perutravel #andesmountains #travel_drops #travellingourplanet #travelingtheworld #travelinggram #travelingaroundtheworld #water_capture #water_shots #neverstoptravelling #travelingourplanet #watercolor_gallery #waterlust #water_captures #peru🇵🇪 #discoverperu #igersperu #traveling_minimal #travelingislife #travelingshoot #waterscape #water_of_our_world

You’re probably thinking right now, “why is there a generic looking apartment building on Landmarks of New York?” Well dear reader, this is THE generic looking apartment building that started it all. It’s called the Manhattan House, and it was completed in 1951. Located between 1st and Second Avenue taking up the whole south side of 66th Street, the Manhattan house was revolutionary for its time. It’s 21 stories in most spots and was the first building to try to integrate more light and green space for its inhabitants with large windows and balconies. Some notable New Yorkers have lived here over the years, most famously Grace Kelly. Although it seems out of place with the brick, brownstone or wood normally associated with a landmark, it is unique in its own right and was designated by The City of New York on December 30th, 2007. #postcardplaces #picoftheday #cntraveler #iamatraveler #soho #iloveny #timeoutnewyork #newyorkcity #nyc #manhattan #brownstone #newyork_instagram #landmark
