Pollution 27. Temp 29. Beautiful day on the Great Wall. _____ Before the use of bricks, the Great Wall was mainly built from rammed earth, stones, and wood. During the Ming, however, bricks were heavily used in many areas of the wall, as were materials such as tiles, lime, and stone. The size and weight of the bricks made them easier to work with than earth and stone, so construction quickened. Additionally, bricks could bear more weight and endure better than rammed earth. Stone can hold under its own weight better than brick, but is more difficult to use. Consequently, stones cut in rectangular shapes were used for the foundation, inner and outer brims, and gateways of the wall. _____ Colourful observations of the world.

Hotpot is probably one of the most colorful dishes you can enjoy in this city. The red-hot broth looks just as fiery as it tastes! Out-of-towners may not be able to handle that level of spiciness right away; to accommodate diners who prefer something milder, most restaurants also serve yuanyangguo, in which the pot is divided into two sections — one section for spicy broth and one section for clear broth. That way, everyone can sit together and enjoy a meal at one table. And no one will be screaming for milk after the first bite! @meganjzhang #travelinchina #exploringhiddenchina #cgtn #cgtntravelogue #Chongqing #hotpot #spicy

#ONEYEARINCHINA As my days are approaching near to go back to China for one more year, I am trying to process my last year. I have 2500 photos and 1000 videos. The memories I have made, they are literally too much to handle! I didn't realise China has given me so much. . Today I have collected 12 pictures from 12 months I have spent in China. These were my favourite moments and I am mentioning about each picture below ☺️ . . August - it was my day 1 in China and I was sitting in the bank doing all the formalities and just being so happy to be able to come here. Each day in August felt so blessed. September - Enjoying my mooncake on Mid-Autumn festival ☺️ I also witnesses how to make mooncakes (It's Chinese logo ki mithai basically) . October - I was in mid of my October holidays enjoying fish spa with my friend, Mackenzie. . November - It was the time when I slowed down in my life. This is a perfect place to have picture in our campus. . December - Coldest month. I ate a lot. . . January - A Chinese who was a stranger (just met at a coffee shop) invited me and my friend, Mackenzie for a Korean Sauna and here we were! Haha, I love this month. . February - Oh, the most relaxing, beautiful month of my life ❤️ I am in Dali, Yunnan. I miss this place so much. People need to experience Yunnan. . March - The month where I progressed in Yoga . April - The month where I had a mental breakdown and I had no pictures from this month except this one. . May - I had fun times, was totally engrossed in studies, away from social media. We met an uncle in Yunnan and he came to Nanjing to see me and my friend, Mackenzie. . June - Oh it's a special month. Best month so far. Studied a lot, made some really good friends :) . July - Tick tock tick tock, it's time to go back . Bye bye ;) . . . . #mychinastory

Hey! Today I want to tell you a bit about my experiences in China, more precisely about the experiences in the province of Xinjiang. Firstly I have to say that it was really really interesting and beautiful to see that region. We met so many people such as the Kazakhs that you can see on the pictures. They were so kind to us and told us a lot about their culture and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. But I also want to share some things that shocked me, such as the control of people. I couldn’t imagine to have a life where you get filmed by a security camera every 10 meters and where you have to go through a security check in every building. For me as a middle european person this seemed very strange but also intimidating. China‘s government is using the technological developement to crontol people and to censor things (such as Google, Instagram etc.) and this is just not compatible with a life that I would like to live. Us was told on the first day to not talk about politics because this may end up badly for us. 2ND PART IN THE COMMENTS👇

从高处看风景,再不好的地方都能变得好看。 人生也是如此,不要太计较。 在任何事情,虽然那件事并不完美, 但只要你能从中看出美,感到快乐,就足够了。 做人要懂得知足,要懂得感恩。 #instatravel #travelphotography #travelgram #mytraveljournal #travelinchina #throwback
