Is there any reason to do a deep Uttanasana such as this one? Probably not for most people. I am hyper mobile, so for me it’s not a big deal to do this pose. Even so, I only do it very occasionally for the fun of it because I don’t see the health value of lengthening my hamstrings and the back of my body to this degree. If, like me, you can get into this pose without struggling, you probably need to be doing more strengthening of your back line than lengthening. And when you do perform this pose, make sure you engage your hamstrings so the lengthening does not happen passively. Wow 🤩 feel the shake the growing: thankyou @coloringyoga for the awesome compass tutorial. Studied it prior to this practice. What a difference in alignment and wow did I feel an awesome twist stretch in my hips and waist yesss😅. Kept alignment rather than try to force leg straight. Very tricky balances and postures indeed and have worked at these for two years or more. It’s easy to fight the body in compass if ego distracts you from releasing in favour of gripping pulling and collapsing. Made a point of not rounding back and believe I managed that! Any comments yogis please? I’m very excited looking at these vids after what I’m feeling throughout practice. 8 angle pose and one of the vids I chew the carpet but recovered it thought I’d show you 🤣😂. That side was always weaker but wow has it strengthened 😃. Starting to work on more advanced alignment cues. Final vid and Surya Namaskar or sun salutations: right at the start warm up. I’m still using this awesome flow to align my sore muscles which it’s doing beautifully: thankyou universe for your angels 👼🌬🤸🏽‍♀️. My left side is still wanting to drag and trail the left leg and arm but have been onto the ego and distractions that caused the issues. I’m more intentioned and pressing down through the feet and feel the body shake through hips. As Mother Earth vibrates her frequency I’m trying to walk with her and I’m shaking. Keeping my legs straighter and folding at hips. Weight, feet balance feel Mother Earth 🧬🕉🌊. I feel so good and alive what a practice. I’ve worked every Chakra and massages internal organs. Did you see my float through 😃 felt like I was in flight 🦅🐝🤸🏽‍♀️. The Brit black ops team are trying to feed me an accident which I know how. Up dog is rejuvenating my pelvis and spine what a feeling, incredible high feeling as my own government 😈💉 seeks my ill health. shine through is a blessing from creation and I’m a humble believer in the practice of connections and creativity. HOLY 3B 👉 BELT, BLOCK, BLANKET - it is all about extension of the spine ✅ . 1️⃣ Belt on the wrists in #urdhvahastasana - without belt arms are not working, bones are not stright, shoulders will not turn on into the work and there will be no extension in the spine. With belt arms are like arrows pulling sides of the body up 2️⃣ #uttanasana - No blocks - no extension 🤷🏻‍♀️ More stress on the shoulders and neck, less hand work and as a result no opening in th chest 3️⃣ #sarvangasana - may be it is not seen much on the picture but the stress is give on the neck and throught is huge! Even my JAW shifted 😳 And again extension of the spine is missing... 🤯 ⁉️ Why, Why, Why it is all about extension of the spine?! Becouse it our shaft and posture. It holds our organs on the right places, lets the blood circulate well, supports our brain in work. Tight hamstrings and #uttanasana 😊 I have seen so many people try to straighten their hamstrings and round their back in this pose. No no no. Bend your knees and keep the spine long!! . In my YTT class today, the teacher showed a slide of people doing variations of this pose. Basically about bad alignment. Then my friend asked “how about people who did straight legs on Instagram?” 😂😂😂 The first pic was me in maybe until 15-20 minutes of practice or 4-5 rounds of Sun salutations. The bottom pics properly not happens until after 5th rounds. 😊 Did I try to show off here and make people who cannot do it feel bad about their body? No I just doing my practice. 😅 I am quite flexible. That means I have to work harder to get my strength, be more mindful. so I won’t get injured. . . At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how flexible or how strong you are. It’s all about enjoying your practice. Yoga is not only about asanas. Things I do to calm down.🧘🏾‍♀️ Uttanasana is an intense standing forward fold, which is pretty good at relieving stress and soothing the nervous system. Forward bending stimulates these nerves by stretching the neck and low back, which is calming to the nervous system as we literally turn within. We also create a feeling of safety because the sensitive front of the body is well protected. A lot of times when I’m having an anxiety attack, I feel it in my chest and this for me helps to calm the rapid beating and heaviness in my #uttanasana #forwardbend #yoga #stressrelief #anxiety
