Coming in with my absolute favorite pose EVER at day 8 is low lunge with a backbend! I may say “favorite” a lot but this one truly is my favorite. It’s just so beautiful to me. One thing I love about my hobbies is that I get to share them with my loved ones. Hiking is my favorite hobby, and Roxanne joins me every time. & my friends and family when they can make time to go too. Plus I throw in yoga while I hike, so I’m getting in two of my favorite hobbies in one. & spend time with my loved ones. It’s 3am and I’m wide awake - was wondering why and then it hit me - Happy Full Moon day! This full moon 🌕 is definitely the one to remind us of the need for some R & R time - perfect timing for my upcoming candlelit relax and restore workshop this Friday at 7.30pm! 😁 It’s going to be a special one as we will be incorporating into our yoga nidra a release of anything from 2019 that no longer serves us, clearing the way for a fresh, positive and happy 2020! The photo below was taken under the last full moon 🌕 of 2019 on the Isle of Skye (FYI I ❤️ Skye, it’s like this wee magical fairy 🧚‍♂️ land - when the weather isn’t blowing you into the sea that is)...you can just see the moon shining in the top left hand corner... I’m just hanging in my pod in the quiet moon light and couldn’t be more at peace 😊 (as if I feel casual in this photo - I don’t, for sure, even with my foot on the door frame 🤣). I find that inversions can help reflect in you that when your world feels upside down, it’s sometimes bringing lessons to help create and build strength (and I’m not a fan of the old what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger), but from time to time your world will be turned upside down and we just have to do the best we can to respond as best we can ... I’m not particularly comfortable hanging about upside down but inversions cultivate a feeling of strength that even lifting heavy weights doesn’t quite do for me... As winter is coming, this is often a time of year where we have to be stronger, the cold weather and long dark days can get you down and we have to find more out of the box ways to stay motivated to chase the sunshine in our lives .... I literally got the lyric ‘we’ll find a way of chasing the sun’ ☀️ in January this year so I have this constant reminder...extreme I know! Known either as the Full Beaver Moon or the Full Frost Moon, this month’s full moon is traditionally associated with the gradual winding down we see in nature during November: Animals prepare for hibernation, plants lose their blooms and go dormant in reaction to the chill in the air, and, sadly, people (even under our noses here in this city) cont in comments...
