In the past month I’ve done the undoable or at least that is what it feels like to me. I’ve been feeling stuck. I was in that moment in my life where I wondered if this is it, if this is enough. I kept wondering if I am on the right journey that is consistent with my dreams and values and in turn I started questioning my dreams, wondering if these were also outdated and outgrown. . So I went on an adventure, despite all the little voices in my head head screaming “omg, omg, omg” and countless questions that my rational self kept coming up with, I just ripped off the band aid and went for it. . G R A T I T U D E How are you starting your Monday? It’s so easy to race straight into a Monday morning still half a sleep and be buried down by all the things you need to do for the week ahead. So this morning I started a new habit, and began Monday morning with a mediation surrounding cultivating gratitude and got on my mat to move freely with an open heart to start the week ahead. As much as I could have easily stayed in bed, sometimes you need to make that first step and set yourself up for an awesome day. My classes this week will all be surrounding cultivating gratitude, even in the most painful, challenging or even dull moments of your life. Hope to see you on the mat. Maybe if you just looked better, you’d be acceptable, worthy, perhaps even praised. ⁣⁣ * * Imagine how it would feel, day after day. ⁣⁣Showing up, doing all you can. ⁣⁣Trying to make her happy. ⁣⁣Instead facing rejection and criticism at every turn. ⁣⁣* * But this isn’t an imaginary tale. ⁣⁣ * * This is everyday life for many of our bodies. ⁣⁣* * Who show up, do their best, and face rejection and criticism by the very one they came to serve. ⁣⁣ * * Sometimes, our bodies fail us.⁣⁣ It’s an undeniable truth for many. ⁣⁣ * * But most of the time, we fail our bodies. ⁣⁣ * * Creating an unloving, toxic and challenging environment to come and do the good work in. * * The fat on our bodies to keep us warm. ⁣⁣The stretch marks that came to give us a way to grow. ⁣⁣The dimples and cellulite that 90% of us adorn. ⁣⁣The scars, the sags, the signs of living and healing. A job well done. ⁣⁣Yet again. ⁣⁣And again. ⁣⁣ * * I know your body may not be doing what you wanted it to. I know it’s easy to fall into toxic habits with the words we share with ourselves. I know it’s hard to love a body you must live with, through changes and unexpectedness. I know it’s hard to see others, and wish your body worked like theirs. ⁣⁣ * * But we do have choice.⁣⁣ A choice to have respect. ⁣⁣To act in love. ⁣⁣To create a better space. ⁣⁣To work, love, play and grow. ⁣ * * To exist in a healthy relationship with our forms, yet again thanking her for a job well done, to the best of her ability, in every way she knows how.
