Did you know Bridge Bay Marina is the only marina in Yellowstone Park? Daily activities include: 41 passenger Scenicruise tours, guided fishing/sightseeing tours, backcountry shuttle excursions, motorboat rentals, and dock slip rentals. All of this takes place on Yellowstone Lake, the largest lake in North America above 7,000 feet in elevation. Every season 18,000-20,000 guests ride on our Scenicruise tours! Behind the scenes at the Marina you will find Kori Spruill, the Assistant Marina Manager. Originally from St. Louis, MO, she first came to the park as part of a college internship with @Missouri State University. She has now been here for 6 years. Her time on the lake during the summer helps her with her winter job; Recruiting Specialist in the HR office. “I get to tell people all the reasons I love to live in the park and experiences I’ve had by coming out here in hopes that they can have similar life changing experiences.” On her time off in between summer and winter, she has been able to travel overseas to 5 different countries to visit friends made by working in the park. Thanks to Kori for her dual roles in the park, helping both guests and employees! #WhatWeDoWednesdays

You've probably noticed the red front doors of the Old Faithful Inn but have you noticed the other side? These medieval-looking doors were hammered out by blacksmith George Wellington Colpitts. Legend has it the Inn was locked to all intruders in its early days. There is a wrought iron apparatus, which is an old fashioned coil spring and round clapper that once served as a doorbell for tardy tourists! Can you spot the key in the picture? Thanks to Instagram user @yellowstone_enthusiast for sharing the photo and fun history! #XanterraTravel #YellowstoneNationalPark #YellowstonePledge #YellowstoneForever #FindYourPark #YNP #NationalParkGeek #AmericasBestIdea #OptOutside #Wyoming #Travel #Parks101 #NaturePhotography #TravelStoke #EarthFocus #Wanderlust #DiscoverEarth #OurPlanetDaily #NeverStopExploring #ThatsWy #MontanaMoment #YellowstoneCountry #Yellowstone

With more than 2000 rooms (5,000 beds), 30 restaurants and 3000 employees, ensuring clean sheets, pillowcases, towels, blankets, napkins, tablecloths, and even uniforms is no small load (pun intended.) Our laundry operation is staffed by a team of 60 and is located just inside the park’s northern boundary at Gardiner, Montana. On an average busy day, they will do between 21,000-28,000 pounds of laundry. In 2018 they had a record breaking year of processing over 4 million pounds of laundry for the summer season! Meet Forest Whitener, the happy-go-lucky Assistant Manager of our Laundry operations. Forest is from Michigan and this winter will be his 4th season. “My crew and I really do take pride in making sure our job is done with care and passion…our operation works 7 days a week nonstop to provide clean linen so that our guests have a comfortable stay here and remember that stay in a positive way.” Forest keeps the energy of his team up by collaborating on different music playlists to listen to throughout the day. They also celebrate each million pounds done with a party to keep everyone happy and proud of what they are getting done. Forest starts every season off with these wise words of wisdom for his team: “take pride in the fact that your job is part of a much larger operation than you might think. While you make other people experiences special, never forget that you being here is special too." #WhatWeDoWednesdays

ynplodges. Say hello to Human Resources (HR)! HR is responsible for staffing all

Say hello to Human Resources (HR)! HR is responsible for staffing all aspects of our operations. And that is no small task. In 2019 we hired 3,804 people! All employees check-in at HR’s offices in Gardiner, MT. On an average day in April and May, HR is checking in 130 people. Let’s meet one of the friendly faces of HR. Heather Amelotte is from Maine and came to Yellowstone for “adventure and a desire to live an unconventional life.” During the season she is out on location as an Assistant Human Resources Manager. “It is my job to make sure our employees are at their best, so they can enjoy their time here and better serve our guests.” In her free time, this former roller derby player loves to hike and camp. Over the winter, Heather works out of the main HR office where she is on the phone interviewing employees. Heather, along with the rest of the HR team, helps to find people who will provide legendary hospitality to the millions of guests traveling to Yellowstone over the course of a summer. Her best advice for new employees? “You will come here for the park but the community will be the best part you didn't see coming. #WhatWeDoWednesdays

What department serves 40,000 guests with only 50 employees and does it all in just 100 days? Well blow me down, it’s the Corrals! We operate 2 horse corrals in the park (Roosevelt Lodge and Canyon Village). We use 230 horses and haul over 400 tons of hay (as well as 400 tons of manure). Say "Howdy partner” to one of our Wranglers, Tyler Graham. Originally from Upstate New York, this was Tyler’s first season in the park. But this ain’t his first rodeo. He’s been riding since he was knee high to a grasshopper and says “I have ridden more miles a horseback then I have walked.” But coming to work in Yellowstone is a whole new ball of wax. Wranglers have about two weeks to remember the looks, names, and personalities of over 100 head of horses. Then it’s time to hit the trails. "As a wrangler, I am here to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable while on one of our horseback trips…a wranglers upmost concern is the safety and enjoyment of you and your family.” Tyler grew up rodeoing and also enjoys riding bucking horses while trying not to chew gravel. Hats off to Tyler and all the Wranglers who show our guests a rootin’ tootin’ good time! #WhatWeDoWednesdays
